September 2022 – 3rd Annual Bee Active for GRIN2B Foundation Walk, Run & Roll

This September, we are uniting around the globe to be active, build awareness and raise funds for the GRIN2B Foundation. Choose your own date and time in September, and a way to be active. Whether it’s walking or bike riding or rollerblading, we want you to be active and have some fun.

July 15-16, 2022 – GRIN2B Family Weekend, Chicago, IL

Registration is now open for the GRIN2B Foundation Family Weekend in the Chicago Suburbs, July 15-16, 2022. After postponing this event the past two years, we are beyond thrilled to finally host this much-needed event. Based on feedback we received after our 2018 Conference, we will focus slightly less on Science and more on providing families with support and resources as well as providing parents and their children ample opportunities to connect and bond.

In place of our cancelled GRIN2B Family Weekend this July, we are instead producing a webinar series to engage, educate and empower our community.

For your convenience, the majority of the webinars will be pre-recorded and made available on our YouTube channel starting July 19th. We will have two live webinars in the evening on 7/20 and 7/22. See our webinar page for more details!

May 5, 2020 – Giving Tuesday Now

#GivingTuesday Now is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

We know these are hard times right now for many families in our GRIN2B community, and we are not looking to do a huge fundraising push at this time. Happily, there are many ways to get involved without fundraising. Or, there are always smaller ways to get involved in fundraising if you have the means. No amount is ever too small.

September 13-14, 2019 – CFERV Conference on GRIN Variants – Atlanta, Georgia, USA

We are excited to announce our collaboration with the Center for

Functional Evaluation of Rare Variants, CFERV on their 2019 Conference for GRIN Variants at the Emory Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, GA on 9/13 and 9/14. This Conference will bring together the GRIN1, GRIN2A, GRIN2B, GRIN2C, GRIN2D, GRIN3A and GRIN3B parent communities and will be a wonderful opportunity to hear from Scientists and Clinicians around the world studying and treating GRIN disorders.

September 29, 2018 – European GRIN2B Symposium – Barcelona, Spain

Organized by the Hospital Joan de Deu and two Moms from our European GRIN2B community, Zoe Costello and Amela Huskic. This conference is for families with a GRIN2B diagnosis, researchers, clinicians, physicians and anyone else with knowledge or a wish to learn more about GRIN2B. In addition to the social aspect of the day, clinicians and researchers will provide a scientific background to the GRIN2B gene and its functions as well as a look at what is current and upcoming in the field of genetics and possible treatments. November 19, 2017 – GRIN2B Virtual Family Meeting with the Simons VIP Study Team
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time!

During the GRIN2B Virtual Family Meeting, the Simons VIP Study Team will give a registry update, review what they know from a medical standpoint, give a presentation on behavior, and then open up a forum for discussion between the families, researchers, physicians and clinicians on the line.

Since this meeting will be recorded, they will provide a video release form, which will be circulated with the formal registration information. Please review the document and return it by November 11th.
