Welcome to the GRIN2B Foundation’s first Family Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, 9/21/18 – 9/22/18*.
This event has been an ambition of our organization since the first board meeting one year ago. By bringing researchers, parents, and children together in one place, we hope to gain a better understanding of how GRIN2B affects all of us and how we can work together to better serve this growing community of families.
*If you are looking for information on the GRIN2B Symposium taking place in Barcelona on 9/29/18, please check out our Events page. This event has been arranged by several families in Europe in conjunction with the Barcelona Children’s Hospital.

Additional Information
Our partner, Simons VIP Connect, will be on hand during this event to collect voluntary blood samples from families who have not completed this step in the registration process yet. This will be done in a separate room from the conference. Each family will sign up for a half hour block to complete this task. Depending on the # of families participating in this, we will determine the best time of day to fit this in so it does not conflict with any of the presentations. Blood draws may end up overlapping with lunch/breaks, either before or after the conference session on Saturday or Friday night/Sunday morning.
Childcare info
Due to liability reasons, we are unable to provide childcare. We will have a separate space, adjacent to the conference room at the hotel for caregivers and children to meet up in. Children will need to be accompanied by their childcare provider at all times. We kindly ask that you do not bring your children into the conference sessions.
Volunteers from the organization, Corrigan Care will be in the room throughout the day to help support families and interact with the children. Corrigan Care is a local company that provides developmentally appropriate care to children with special needs and support for their families.
