Dear GRIN2B Families,
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GRIN2B Foundation postponed our 2020 GRIN2B Family Weekend originally scheduled for July 10 and 11, 2020 in Chicago, IL (USA). The new dates are July 15th & 16th, 2022 and we are very excited to finally move forward with this in-person event.
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you all in Chicago this July. If you are unable to attend in person, the event will be live streamed. The recorded sessions will also be available on our YouTube channel at a later date.

What is a GRIN2B Family Weekend?
This is a new format for us, but based on the feedback we received after our 2018 Conference, we will focus slightly less on Science and more on providing families with support and resources as well as providing parents and their children ample opportunities to connect and bond.
Families of related GRIN-gene disorders are welcome to attend as well!

We have a block of 20 rooms available to our group and will add more as needed. Rates are quoted exclusive of any applicable taxes and hotel service fees.
Single Occupancy – $139/night
Double Occupancy – $139/night
Triple Occupancy – $164/night
Quadruple Occupancy – $189/night
1 Bedroom Plaza Suite – $189/night (room does not include a pull out couch)
Rollaway bed – $10/night
Each room includes 2 breakfast buffets (max 1 per day, per guest room). Please note, GRIN2B Foundation will provide breakfast for everyone during the Conference on Saturday, the 16th.
Transportation: The Hyatt Regency O’Hare offers a courtesy shuttle to and from O’Hare airport.

Early Bird Registration (by May 6th) – $75 per adult (includes caregivers)
Registration (May 6th – June 27th) – $85 per adult (includes caregivers)

Individuals with a GRIN2B diagnosis – Free
Travel Scholarship
Deadline to Apply: May 15th, 2022
A limited number of travel scholarships are available to assist GRIN2B families with travel-related expenses.
To be considered for the scholarship, please complete the following steps:
- Register for the Conference.
- Complete ourTravel Scholarship Application and send proof of your child’s diagnosis to brittaney.crider@grin2b.com. Please confirm with Brittaney that you have enrolled in our GRIN2B Foundation Family Registry (http://grin2b.com/register).
- Attend the Family Weekend.
- Complete a Post-event survey.
If all of the above conditions are met, we will mail a check to you approximately 1 month post event. Scholarship amounts will be $400 per US-based families and $550 for International based families.

The end times for both days are still subject to change. A full agenda with additional details on each presentation will be provided at the event.
Lunch will be provided on Friday and both breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday.
Covid-19 Policy

We are monitoring the state of the COVID-19 pandemic and will implement all precautions necessary to ensure a safe in-person meeting experience for all. We will continue to follow federal, state and local city regulations for any further changes and make updates to this Policy when additional information becomes available. These items are subject to change at any time.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Participation in Conference events and activities carries some risk, and by attending, Attendees assume responsibility for their own well-being. All Attendees must follow posted instructions while participating in Conference events and activities. Failure to follow all protocols in effect and required by GRIN2B Foundation, the venue provider, and governing authorities during the Conference may result in registration cancellation without refund.
Cancellation Policy
As we need to provide the number of attendees to the hotel for catering, we can only refund cancellations made prior to 7/8.
Refunds for last minute cancellations due to sickness or exposure to Covid will be honored.
Childcare Information
Due to liability and financial reasons, we are unable to provide childcare. We will have a separate space, adjacent to the conference room at the hotel for caregivers and children to meet up in. There will be child-friendly events each day and we hope to have volunteers in the room to assist with activities.
We kindly ask that you do not bring your children into the sessions. Children will need to be accompanied by their childcare provider at all times.
